Fulham Reach Boat Club awarded World Rowing Programme of the Year!

Congratluations to Fulham Reach Boat Club who have been awarded World Rowing Programme of the Year!   Julia Philipson, Chief of Community Development at FRBC writes:

I am thrilled to share some incredible news: on Saturday Fulham Reach Boat Club was awarded the prestigious Rowing Programme Of The Year at the World Rowing Awards in Seville, Spain.

Our CEO Adam Freeman-Pask and COO Alastair Horn had the honour of attending the ceremony to accept the award for our charity. This award recognises our contributions to sport through extensive community outreach and innovative programmes to help transform lives through rowing.

Our work spans partnership with 14 local schools, the expansion of our Boats Not Bars programme aimed at reducing reoffending among serving prisoners with a ‘through the gate’ approach, and the launch of adaptive rowing for visually impaired participants supported by a diverse coaching team, of whom 60% are women. Plus, our environmental efforts, such as water quality testing, electric low CO2 coaching boat, and removing over 500 kg of litter from the Thames, further demonstrating our holistic approach to community engagement.

All of us at FRBC are immensely proud to be recognised for our commitment to making rowing accessible, breaking down barriers, and inspiring future generations!
